Thelma Louise Brite

Thelma Louise was born on January 23, 1936, to Albert L Williams and Artella (Solomon) Williams and was raised in Lockhart, Texas. She attended Carver High School before pursuing a nursing profession at Holy Cross Hospital. Her compassionate spirit and commitment to serving others were evident throughout her life and career.

For more than sixty years, she was a faithful and dedicated member of Saint Peter's Methodist Church. Throughout those decades, she served honorably in numerous capacities, including as an usher and church secretary. Her unwavering faith and servant's heart made her a treasured member of her church family and community.

In 1957, she married the love of her life, Therlo A. Brite. Together they built a loving home and raised five children, pouring their hearts into their family and creating a legacy grounded in love, faith, and perseverance.

She dedicated twenty-seven years of service to the Internal Revenue Service, where she worked diligently until her retirement. Her strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to excellence earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

In 1995, The Brites Trail Rides was established to promote community, fellowship, and togetherness. For more than two decades, she led and participated in the organization with extraordinary dedication and passion. Through this endeavor, she helped create lasting friendships, treasured memories, and meaningful connections throughout the community.

Beyond her many accomplishments, she found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved fishing, spending precious time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family, and traveling across the country. Whether on the open road with the wind in her hair or surrounded by loved ones, she embraced every moment with enthusiasm, grace, and a spirit of adventure.

She was also a proud member of the Masonic family and the Travelers Golf Club, organizations through which she built lasting relationships and continued her lifelong commitment to fellowship and service.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her cherished children, Cynthia Brite and Leslie Brite; and her loving parents.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children, Robert Solomon, Douglas Brite, Sr., and Sherry Brite; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, church family, and members of the trail riding community whose lives were blessed by her presence.

Her legacy of faith, service, family devotion, and community leadership will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
