"Promoted To Glory"

Elder Samuel Charles Jackson was born July 23,1932 who passed at the age of 91. He was a gift to his father and mother, Charlie and Willie May Jackson, being the last child of six. He grew up in a time where they cultivated a range of diverse things. They picked cotton, apples and a host of other things. He and his cousin Henry worked in his father’s store selling peanuts and gasoline and other products. He also taught himself to play jazz and blues on the piano. Being underage, his sisters - Mayodie and Lavera, would sneak him into the club to play so everyone could dance.

Now at the age of 14, he decided to give his life to Christ at Possum Trot C.O.G.I.C where he totally stopped playing the piano. Afterwards, he registered for the Army from 1955-1957 during which time he met Daisy Nell Williams of Vallejo Ca. which captivated his eyes, and who at the time, was with a soldier friend of his. Later he pursued her and they were united in Holy Matrimony on Dec. 21, 1957.

The couple promptly became members at First Life C.O.G.I.C in Riverside, Ca. under Elder Howard where he became a Deacon. During those days in Riverside, Ca. he worked hard at Robideaux Motors while studying in college. Next, he served as a Deacon under Elder Anderson for 11yrs at St. Mark C.O.G.I.C. Then he moved his family to Oakland, Ca.

He first worked at Granny Goose, later he would switch jobs to A.C. Transit, where he retired after 17 yrs.

He also served at Greater Emmanuel C.O.G.I.C under Elder Wagner from 1968-1971. Then he served under Pastor Sheppard from

1971-2000 at Greater Bethesda C.O.G.I.C. During these years he had three children: Charles Bryant Jackson, Samuel Earl Jackson, and Stephanie Arnette Jackson.

He was married to Daisy for 42yrs. Later, he married Janell and relocated to Bastrop, Texas where he served under Supt. Dr. Paul Thompson for two yrs. After which, he was led to start his own ministry - House of David C.O.G.I.C. for 3yrs. Afterwards, he retired from the ministry and served under Supt. Dennis Watson at Faith Cathedral C.O.G.I.C until he fell ill, ending up at an assisted living facility till he passed.

He leaves behind 2 of 3 children: Charles and Samuel Earl Jackson. Charles' family consists of: Karla (wife); 3 grandsons (Yehoshua, who preceded him (2016), Joshia, and Jabez). Samuel's family consists of: Curee (wife); 2 granddaughters (Patricee and Sarina); grandson (Samuel, Jr., who has 1 great-granddaughter, Nova; and 1 great-grandson (Samuel).

Stephanie (2020); Daisy (1999) 1st wife; Jenelle (2017) 2nd wife; all preceded him in death. In addition, he leaves a host of family to include, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
