JIM ELDRIDGE MOORE, SR., was born to Jim Moore and Evelyn Amos in Manor, Texas. He attended public school and accepted Christ at an early age. Jim served in the Army, and after departure from the Army, he married his childhood sweetheart - Josephine Brown, on March 3, 1955.
Into this union, nine (9) children were born: LeRoy More; Marilyn Moore (Anthony); Lynda Moore Plummer (Charles); Cynthia Moore (Gary); Phyllis Moore Wilson (Ernest); Jim Moore, Jr. (Birda); Ivory Moore, Sr.; Lettrice Moore, Sr., and, Chalesa Moore (Elroy, III).
Jim worked for: Austin Street and Bridge, Animal Control, Austin and Travis State School, before landing his "dream job" as a Capitol Policeman for the State Capitol in Austin, Texas. Jim worked as a Capitol Policeman until he retired
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers - Sherman Moore, Robert Alexander, Oleatha Amos; one sister - Pearline Moore; two sons - Lettrice Moore, Sr., LeRoy Moore; and one daughter - Lynda Moore Plummer.
Jim leaves to cherish his memories, a beloved wife - Josephine Moore; his Grandchildren: Jamiesha Moore, Valerie Moore, Verilee Bunton, Cedric Moore, LaRay Moore, Phyllis Glasco, Tamara Plummer, Davion Moore, Kanji Cayea, Courtney Frazier, Brisha Moore Hernandez, Shawn Moore, Gavilan Moore, Brandon Simon, Ivory Moore, Jr., Ashley Collins, Lettrice Moore, Jr., Gary Ford, and Elroy Griffin IV; a host of Great and Great-Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
