Irastine Ervin was born to John L. Lawrence and Cora Wright in Winona, Texas.
Irastine graduated from Emmet Scott High School in Tyler, Texas.
In December 1972, she received a bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Music at Wiley College.
She worked at Memorial Hospital in Marshall, Texas.
Irastine married Eliga Ervin on March 2, 1972 and accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior shortly after.
She and Eliga moved to Austin Texas with their family in 1980; she was employed by the United States Postal Service and worked at the Suburban Station.
Ms. Ervin attended Bible Believers Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Edward James. As a member, she served in various capacities: church pianist, choir director, musical director of Sisterhood, as well as a Planning Committee member.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her oldest sister, Alice Everhart.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 57 years, Eliga Ervin, Jr. of Elgin, Texas; Easter Ervin of Elgin, Texas; Joseph Ervin, Sr.; Renee Atud of Elgin, Texas; Chrisi Atud of Elgin, Texas; two sisters - Cardie James (Edward) of Austin, Texas and Georgia Walker of Tyler, Texas; four grandkids, and a host of relatives and friends.
