On the day of January 4, 1949, in a small community of St. John, Norris and Elnora Hill Chambers were blessed with a bouncing baby boy. This gift from God was given the name, Howard Chambers. He grew up in the city of Austin, attending the schools of the Austin Independent School District. At an early age, Howard accepted Christ in his life and was baptized at Rising Star Baptist Church by the late Reverend I. W. Robinson.
Howard was united in Holy Matrimony to Carolyn Lewis, and to this union, two boys were born: Lawrence and Keith.
Howard, also known as "Bubba Chambers," worked for 15 years with the Austin Independent School District, and over 20 years at Night Hawk Steak House.
Howard was an avid sports fan and found pleasure in watching a good game or two, as well as traveling with his friend, Carolyn. Howard exemplified what it meant to be a God-fearning man ft or had a big heart, caring spirit, and a desire to take care of everyone. He enjoyed life and loved people, especially his family. All that knew him, will always remember that desire to share and help.
Howard's heavenly departure was on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, and his victory with God began. Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Norris and Elnora Chambers, and his brother, Norris Chambers, Jr.
Howard leaves to cherish his memories: His sons - Lawrence Chambers and his wife, Kristi of Dallas, TX; Keith Chambers and his wife, Keyanna of Bastrop, TX; and, their mother, Carolyn Chambers of Elgin, TX. Three grandchildren: Aurianna Chambers, Caleb Chambers, and Kristian Dismuke. His sisters: Delores Jones of Pflugerville, TX; Bernice Chambers Toliver of Austin, TX. One brother: Paul Chambers of Austin, TX; and, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives covering four generations, and a host of friends.
