Ada Marie Bonner Monroe Anderson Bell, the fourth child of Ollie Jr. and Ada Bonner was born September 29, 1956. She departed this life on January 27, 2024. Preceding her in death are her parents Ollie, Jr. and Ada Bonner as well as a sister Ina Jo Graham and a brother William Arthur Bonner Sr. Also, her beloved husband Melvyn Bell, Sr. and son Melvyn Bell, Jr.
She was a member of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Ada attended L.L. Campbell Elementary School, the last class of Kealing Junior High School and graduated from Stephen F. Austin Senior High School in 1974. Ada also attended A.C.C. for one year thereafter. Ada was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service for forty-five years and retired in 2021 from her position as Clerk.
Her first marriage was in 1974 to Robert E. Monroe Sr. and to that union one child was born, Robert E. Monroe Jr. Her second marriage in 1980 was to Alfert W. Anderson to this union two children were born. Adam W. Anderson and Alfert O. Anderson III. Her third marriage was in 1993 to Melvyn Bell, there were no children born.
The survivors of Ada are Ollie Ruth Carter (Calvester) of Duncanville, TX. Sons, Robert E. Monroe Jr. (Angela) of Madison, AL., Adam W. Anderson (Christina) of Austin, TX and Alfert O. Anderson III (Briana) of San Antonio, TX. Daughter Elvia M. Bell and daughter-in-law Barbara Bell all from Detroit, MI. Special cousin Dr. Beulah Bonner Jones of Austin, TX. Eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. In-laws D. Monroe, W. Monroe, S. Edwards, C. Williams, L. Williams, D. Williams, A. Williams, L. Hardeman, S. Jackson, E. Johnson, B. Alexander, A.L. Conner, J. Everett, E. Anderson, and S. Anderson. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
